Eric has been a local councillor since 2007 and was elected to the District Council in 2010 and to the County Council since 2017.
At District his portfolio includes Health and Wellbeing, Parks and Open Spaces and Leisure and Culture. He has worked as part of the team that has brought large capital investments in sports and leisure and in theatre expansion.
He led the introduction of the Healthy Hub in East Herts and Social Prescribing which has helped many isolated older people into social activities. In 2019 Eric was appointed as Deputy Executive Member for Highways and Environment.
Eric’s focus is always on the safety of residents and has worked with local parishes to try to reduce speeding and dangerous parking.
He voted against the potential quarry at Briggens Estate and has worked with all local Parishes to help mitigate the impacts of large scale housing development.
