I became County Councillor for the Potters Bar East Ward in 2017 after serving 19 years on Hertsmere Borough Council. During those 19 years, I had been both Deputy Leader and Leader of the Council. I am an accountant by profession having been Finance Director for two multi-million national charities over the last 20 years. I have held the Finance portfolio in Hertsmere Borough council since 2001 and I have helped officers create and maintain strong finances within that Council.
As County Councillor for Potters Bar east since 2017 I have helped the community develop initiating a group to run the annual Christmas lights in Potters Bar. Switching on the lights in early December has become established as an important date on the Potters Bar calendar. With my Highways budget I have concentrated on two matters; refurbishing the footpaths around the town and implementing speed advisory signals around Mt Grace school. I hope to be able to continue to be a voice for Potters Bar on the County Council.
